This service is similar to clicktale.com, which I told you about in the last issue. It lets you see every single click on your website. It goes beyond stats into complex metrics, using heatmaps and click data, to reveal the unique story behind each referral to your site.
Ever run into a PDF file that was protected against copy and pasting, or changing the document? This service will remove that limitation, so that you can use Preview (or any decent reader) to digitally highlight, markup, annotate and save your changes to the digital document.

Dr. Robert Cialdini is always fascinating. A new study shows that if you’re out of sync with your peers, your brain will register puzzlement and physical pain. So if everyone’s doing something, now you know why. It’s painful not to be one of the crowd.

No doubt about it, WordPress is an amazing tool. Thanks to the wide variety of plugins available, WordPress can be configured to do just about anything. If you’re stuck, or trying to come up with ideas, this post has dozens of ways you can use WordPress.
One thing WordPress isn’t very good at “out of the box” is SEO. To make your pages search engine friendly, you need to add custom titles, meta descriptions, separate pages for comments, sitemaps and alt text for images. There’s plugins for all these and more.

14.5 Making Your Sites FTC Compliant
I know you’re probably sick of hearing about this, but you can’t stick your head in the sand, and hope it’s going to go away. The deadline to make your sites FTC compliant has passed, making your unprotected affiliate sites vulnerable.
If you think that you’re protected because you live outside the USA, that’s not true. The FTC regularly works with foreign government agencies to catch people making false claims. More importantly are the products that you sell as an affiliate.
Almost every affiliate program I belong to, has a new terms of service. Let me ask you, did you read it, or did you just click the agree button?
I read it. Most of the new wording says that – as an affiliate selling products on this network – you agree to make your websites FTC compliant. So you’ve got to do it, or risk losing your commissions and getting banned from the marketplace.
You also must disclose your affiliate relationship, if you received any freebies, gifts or review copies. Plus you need a privacy policy and updated testimonial disclaimers. (The old “these results not typical” doesn’t cut it anymore.)
Relax. There’s no need to panic.
Attorney Michael Young has created a software package that generates all the necessary pages to make your site compliant. You open the software, enter a few details, and out come the pages. You upload the pages to your site and that’s it.
The price of this security is peanuts, compared to the legal fees, or fines you’d face, if the FTC took a run at you. So get this protection, upload it to your affiliate sites and sleep peacefully, knowing you’re fully FTC compliant.
