To Save Files to Your Hard Drive

The links on the download pages lead to files... not web pages. They won't left click and open without the proper plug-ins installed.

You might want to right click and download the files to you computer. That way, you can print out the PDF files and read them at your leasure.

Windows Users: Click your right mouse button on the download links and "Save target as" in Explorer or "Save link as" in Firefox.

Mac Users: Click and hold on the mouse button down on the download links and "Save this link as" or "Download link to disk" using your browser.

Be sure you note the file name and the directory when saving the files. If you don't know where you saved it, use the search function of your computer to find it on your hard drive, by searching for the File Name.

You'll need a recent version of Adobe's FREE Acrobat Reader software, to read and print the PDF documents. Download a free copy of the Acrobat Reader Software here.

Troubleshooting PDF Files

Check your version of Acrobat Reader. I set the PDF to compress at version 7 or higher. Acrobat 5 & 6 (now many years old) and won't be able to read them. You can get the latest version of the Reader from the Adobe.com website.

If the file won't open, comes up blank, or complains of font mapping errors, it means that your copy of Acrobat is too old. Otherwise, it could mean that the old version of Acrobat is still on your hard drive, and may be trying to open the file. Either delete the old copy of Acrobat, or drag the PDF file to the new Adobe Icon, and see if that works.

Finally, if you have the full version of Acrobat Pro, it may trying and open the file to edit it, which you cannot do. Be sure it's the Reader app that's opening the file.

Almost all PDF problems are due to two things.

1) Trying to load modern PDF files into old Acrobat Reader software. (Just download and install a new reader.)

2) Anti virus software that's preventing the file from downloading or opening. (Shut off your firewall or anti virus software long enough to download, view and print the file.)

To Unsubscribe or Manage Your Subscription

Please... do not ask me to change your email address for you. All that I can do legally is remove you.

To modify your subscription options, or change your email address, use the link at the very bottom of the newsletter I sent you. This prevents some one from "pretending to be you" from processing a remove request or address change.

It also ensures that I've complied by all the US CANSPAM regulations, and the AOL, Yahoo and MSN whitelist conditions. Sorry for the inconvenience, but rules are rules and I have to abide by them. And the rules state, you must change your own email address. I cannot do it for you.

Podcast Help

Most audio files are very large. Many megabytes in size. If you have a cable modem, DSL, or fast connection, right click on the link, and follow the same download instructions as in the PDF section above.

If you have a dial-up connection, you may want to left click on the link and listen to the audio (if you have the proper browser plug-ins installed). Once the entire file is streamed to your hard drive, you can then save it.

You'll need MP3 or AAC player software to listen to the audio files. Most computers already have an MP3 player installed.

Windows users can use iTunes, Windows Media Player or QuickTime Player. Mac users can use iTunes, QuickTime, Windows Media Player for Mac or any other player.

You can also copy the files to a portable MP3 or AAC player like the iPod. You can then take the audio files with you, and listen at your convenience. Enjoy!
